THE HOOTZ

Music Genre: Country

Sub-Genre: Alternative Rock

Description: The Hootz, previously referred to as The Hootn'Anges, are an Alternative Country/Punk-Grass Band from Western New York. With husband & wife duo, Luke & Ange Marino, on vocals & guitar & bass guitar, there is something so pure about their humorous lyrics & raw music. Their newest & youngest member of the band is Anton Oliverio. He is well known for being one of WNY's best country rock drummers, winning many drum competitions all over the world. They have a number of classically trained musicians who connect during their shows, some of which include: the fiddle, steel guitar, and banjo. Their high energy brings an original & enthusiastic sound to their show. They began to refer to themselves as The Hootz, after Artist Events, Inc. & other Nashville professionals started working with the band. This name clearly reflects their redneck, hoe-down, knee-slapping, good-time, & hootenanny style music. The Hootz live performances have been accredited as "more fun than a barrel full of hillbillies" & like "Country with a Twist & SHOUT!!!"
This energetic young band recently released their first CD on iTunes called; "Big Deal in a Small Town", which has already sold more than 15,000 copies worldwide. Their song, "Gettin' Out", has gained a lot of attention on the National Radio breaking into the top 100, & is also the song they performed live on the morning channel 9/Syracuse's Bridge Street News. (See links below for interview, music video, article & live performance.) Their music can be heard on "Nashville Broadcast Radio Network" NBRN.FM, Radio Madison out of Nashville, TN & Syndicated Radio. They continue to write & perform all their original songs, & look forward to a new CD release this year 2015.
The Hootz "Rednecks Are Coming Summer Tour", in 2014, accompanied many National Recording Artists including: Josh Thompson, Carrie Underwood, Brad Paisley, Craig Campbell, Parmalee, Chris Higbee, Eric Paslay, & The Custom Taylor Band. Other big acts they are looking forward to sharing the stage with include: Phil Vassar, Kellie Pickler, Ashley Monroe, & they have been asked to support Josh Thompson yet again this May. They’ve traveled to Rochester, Syracuse, & all over New York within the past year; however, they will be widening their travel as far as California, Florida, North Carolina, Indiana, Texas, & Tennessee this Summer/Fall of 2015. Their music, tour dates, music videos, sponsors, and merchandise can all be found at www.thehootz.com. Some of their corporate sponsors include: Luckless Clothing Co., Coldcock Whiskey, & Goldtone Musical Instruments. Check them out on reverbnation, youtube, facebook, twitter, instagram, and google. They continue to hit the top of the charts in their genre on reverbnation, which named them one of the top break-out country groups of 2014. The Western New York Music Awards also named The Hootn'Anges the #1 Country Band in September of 2014.

The JT Blues Band

Music Genre: Blues

Sub-Genre: Rock

Description: The JT Blues Band, a high-energy blues/rock band based in Western New York, takes pride in their original music. This is definitely not your typical blues band!

The JT Blues Band’s achievements include placing second at the 2010 Memphis Bound Blues Competition. Three of their original songs have been included on blues CDs compiled by 88.7 WBFO-FM, the local NPR affiliate, which get regular air-play. Band members Joe Territo (JT), Rick Baker, Rick McDonald, and Scott Freilich are experienced musicians whose passion and talent combine to create some great original music.

The JT Blues Band’s original CD, 21st Century Blues, is selling very well worldwide – in 20 countries so far! 21st Century Blues is a straight mix with no dubbing, extra fills, or studio magic. When you hear the band live, you experience exactly what you hear on their recordings.

All of these original songs by The JT Blues Band get regular airplay on internet radio stations worldwide, where the band averages about 100 plays each month.

JT, the band’s songwriter, is an experienced singer and guitarist. Drummer Rick Baker, the heartbeat of the band, also has many years of experience. Rick McDonald, lead vocalist, is a long-time actor with stage and television credits. Scott Freilich,(who replaced Joe Scrivo) is a member of the Buffalo Musicians Hall of Fame, is an upright bass player who unleashes plenty of talent in his bass rhythms. The band, a member of the Western New York Blues Society, performs throughout the region for their enthusiastic following, which grows whenever new audiences hear the JT Blues Band. They expect to release their next CD next year.
